Re: Oklahoma State game thread
It is a shame that you guys cannot enjoy a win in the first game on the road. Every game comes with its pluses and minus in this game the plus was a W and the minus is how you can't enjoy it. In March the committee will look at this game as a road win which is all X wants. They did what they were supposed to do. Maybe we should call you the pissers and moaners.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Good win against two teams. I didn’t think the one in stripes would be responsible for so many points off turnovers.

XU always does best when I don't watch. I didn't watch the second half.

Good road win. Some commentary:
- I like this team’s depth at all positions. I hope Steele knows how to use all these pieces to exploit matchups. If he can, we have a chance to go deep in March.
- We suck at 3’s still.
- Nice to see a 2nd half adjustment to zone
- Wish we had a big who could score
- A road win vs a power 5 is a good win

Especially this harsh, unwarranted criticism, "Miles need to get deeper in the block." Absolutely no need for this kind of bashing.

For a few minutes, late, I thought I would deeply regret watching. Its a road win. An ugly one but a road win nevertheless. We survived the Bad Shot Trifecta---Miles from beyond the free throw line, Scruggs with an ugly, ugly fall away and perhaps the dumbest shot of the season so far, Hunter launching a three early in the shot clock when anyone who has ever, ever played basketball, knew we should have been running the clock.
Hunter, to me, is one of our more intriguing players. He has talent, length, athleticism, plays good "D" but has the decision making of a sixth grader.

Ball don't lie, and we were the better team. Just took a while to bubble up to the surface. Nice road kill once we decided to pass the ball to ourselves and survive some Nunge early foul trouble. Hunter hustles, scrappy and brings a nasty tude, plus seems he is trying to let the offense dictate his shot selections more although still a ways to go. Added bonus to get so many pivotal minutes for Zach which will only help us as we keeping building and developing the rotation and chemistry. Again, much you could nitpick, but coming home with the 'dub versus a Big 12 foe allows a short memory. Also nice to see Steel make the obvious switch to zone at that key juncture.

Re: Oklahoma State game thread
that was a hope, not criticism like the guy that said: BTW for an experienced player, Scruggs dribbles the ball into the Bermuda Triangle under pressure (not just this game) a lot. Yeah, Paul only shot 50%from the field and scored 19 points. or maybe the one where someone said "I love Nunge's game, except for his three-point shooting. He took only two but was 2-5 from the field and 4-4 from the line playing well with Zach. then there was "He(miles) also needs to shelve the 18 footer which led to a 4-second conversion on the other end." but go ahead and be critical of one comment. BTW enjoy the W and the good job the coaches did managing the game.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:49 pmAgreed.muskieman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:23 pmIt is a shame that you guys cannot enjoy a win in the first game on the road. the zone is what kill Ok St against WS and like Ws X waited until the second half to deflate Ok St offense. Have to credit the coaches for springing it on themX-lucidity wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:00 pmBall don't lie, and we were the better team. Just took a while to bubble up to the surface.
