Re: Crosstown game thread
decent first half. Travis used different Ds and put a brake on UC offense (31%) while X was aggressive all over the floor. With Jones sitting most of the first half (18 minutes)because of two quick and dubious fouls it is hard to think X could score as well. Jones should be fresh and let's hope he puts up his normal game numbers and X can coast. Bench (Jack and Adam scored well in the first half.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

X is playing well. Veteran team that is in control.
Only downside is that I wish our players wouldn't talk trash to UC. They will probably beat us up again and we won't fight back.

All trash talk ever does is ***** an opponent’s pride causing them to play harder.

X’s performance tonite proves that the Muskies are no doubt the #1 team in the country. They can just “mail it in” for the rest of the season.

Jack (the MAN) Nunge...nothing else needs to be said. First shootout and he dominated. The bearcats never had a chance.
PS that should put a crimp in their defensive prowess.

Trash talking is part of the game now. Whether you like it or not, it is going to happen. I would rather our team be used to both giving and receiving in big games. They can talk away…as long as they get the W.

Appears that Fox was going to show WWE Friday night smackdown but there was a bigger smackdown tonight so they didn't show it

The last time we had a huge lead in the Shootout at Cintas and were talking trash, we got beat up. And didnt fight back.Jesseandrippers wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 11:04 pmTrash talking is part of the game now. Whether you like it or not, it is going to happen. Then 2 of our players who talked the trash but were too timid to fight (Tu and Lyons), went to the podium and called themselves gangsters.
I didnt want a repeat of that humiliation.

I would suspect you are well passed the age of diminishing returns to reap the benefits of your “natural” food source. Time to unlatch from the left one and toughen up.sweet67 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 11:19 pmThe last time we had a huge lead in the Shootout at Cintas and were talking trash, we got beat up. Welcome back to the Board! As a huuuge X fan, odd that you only came back during the annual UC ass kicking again. No worries, glad to have you back. And don’t worry, if X does trash talk, the players from UC Comm College won’t understand the words anyway, as you well know, being an X grad. We both know you’re not a UC troll despite the history of your grammatically, compromised posts. Also, if they do start another fight b/c they got their asses kicked AGAIN, let’s hope that no UC cretins take cheap sucker punches and stomp on a X peacemaker on the ground as the two UC scholars Gates and Mooj did to Frease. Hey Sweet, I thought Wes Miller who pee’d down his leg the minute he walked into Cintas would have learned from Brannen’s mistake of baiting X. Both got their low-mid major arses kicked. I suspect ole Wes will keep his mouth shut next year. Proud of how our coach didn’t take the bait and engage in sophomoric chatter. Funny. It’s usually the coach of a nationally relevant program who has accomplished something who talks. UCk flipped the script in consecutive yrs.
Hey, at least we can thank the Gods that our beloved Cats (OK, I’M A CLOSETED HUUUUUUGE UCk football fan) play in one of the worst low, mid-major football leagues, where the 2nd best team in Houston lost to one of the worst teams in the Big 12 by 17 points. Fortunately, the CFB playoff system is the way it is, where playing one good team a year gets you in the playoffs, despite having an SOS exponentially higher than the other three teams. Hey, just b/c we would have 3-4 losses if we played in the SEC or B10, don’t blame us. We’ll gladly back our way in. With two of Bama’s first round draft choices injured on both sides of the ball, I think our Cats will win by three touchdowns instead of two. Sorry, I can’t hide my giddiness for the Cats, who squeaked out wins against juggernauts like Tulsa, E Carolina, and Navy. I would much rather play Texas A & M, GA, & Ole Miss than the murderous row that we did. Again, sorry guys, I can’t hide my love for Cats football.
Sweet, let’s meet up at the next game at Cintas. I’ll buy you a diet coke and a basket of fries.
