Re: Providence game thread
looks like the refs are blind as Hopkins knocks a muskie to the floor and then calls foul on X
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I don't much care for Providence but I must say, I am a big fan of #22 rocking the Ronnie James Dio look

Locke 6-7 from three and is normally a 24% 3-point shooter... normally

At some point Miller is going to have to teach these kids how to play D.

Great game. The team showed all kinds of grit and toughness. Jones and Nunge were great. We missed 10 foul shots but the guys were tired. This was a game we had to have and got it .Miller did a great job with the team. If we keep scraping like that we are going to be OK. Much needed win for the team. Go X.

Re: Providence game thread
Easy win, never in doubt.
The bench did not step up as hoped. They didn't make a bunch of mistakes but they also didn't bring a lift.
Boum is probably the worst defender I've ever seen. Game after game, he gets beat. He was a great offensive player but his shot selection continues to deteriorate. He is now a very good offensive player but no longer great. Some had him getting drafted, no idea if that has any basis in reality but he is destroying all hope of that by forcing bad shots from deep. He rarely takes bad shots when attacking the basket, with the exception of the Creighton game but he is forcing way too many deep shots.
Free was missed. Would have been easier with him.
Claude was huge stepping in for Hunter and making the FTs. Also had a nice 3 early in the game. His shots looks good, I suspect Miller is correct that he is a better shooter than his game stats indicate.
Hunter had a lot of great plays and a couple big mistakes. He also had horrible luck with 2 FTs rimming out and his 3 was also extremely close. Great effort and the win was not possible without him.
