Romain Sato

Sato absolutely should have his number retired. He had 2,004 points and 892 rebounds and played defense. One of my All-Time favorites. Long over due in my mind.

I agree 100% possibly the best all around player and underrated. Not to mention probably the most successful professional career. Trevon was great but not as worthy as Sato, Posey or Tu.

I think the quandary over Sato's number is that it is the same number of another great player who will remain nameless less the board be inundated by his fans.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

How can X make it a twoer retirement? I would love it to happen as both are deserving

I never saw or watched him. I'm sure the lack of TV coverage hurt him a lot. Back than the coverage was 1% compared to day. I heard he was a great player and wish I could have seen him

I saw all of Steve's home games and many of his road games. Not only did he dump in 50 against Detroit, but he had 45 against UC. Coach Ruberg didn't stress defense because he thought we could outscore everybody. Bob Knight more than once told me me that we should have been a Top 10, and maybe even a Final Four team, with with a little twitting. He really bitched about our lack of defense. We laughed about Steve making the OHIO DASKETDALL HALL OF FAME before him. To me making the OHIO HOF should make his number be retired.

One last point, because Freshman couldn't play back in the 60s and the NCAA only took 16 teams, Steve only played in 76 games. Everyone else has played 50 or 60 more games. Let's retire his number before he is gone, after all he will be 82 in a couple of weeks.
