Remembering Gary

On Jan. 22, the anniversary of his death, you know he would upstage me on my birthday, I want to remember Gary Griffin, a fellow moderator and founding member of Musketeer Madness. Gary Was a classmate of mine in 72. He was always a staunch Musky fan and sometimes a Musky irritant, as Skip Prosser would say.
Gary passed from this board in 2014 in Los Angeles, where his sister, Kathy, and mother lived. For those of you who remember Gary, you know that he could turn irascible when the subject of Skip Prosser came up, as he was not a big fan. His love for Skip is only matched by Skyhoops and AntiHomer's love of Travis Steele.

Anyway, we miss you, Gary, and keep that Muskie mansion open so we fans who will be joining you in the coming years have a place to cheer our Muskies on and have a drink or three

Neutral was a really good guy, as all Mods are, but I didn't know him during the Prosser days. I only started gracing the Board in Miller's 3rd year, I think. We did disagree a lot, but I would have shared his sentiment on Skip, who was an average coach, but the best human being.

For the record, I hated Steele as a coach, but never as a person. He gave great effort, but just didn't have the goods. I'm thrilled that he is having a great year at Miami, along with Kam Craft. I'd love for them to make a Tourney run and will always root for him.

Gary "Moose" was a good man. He was a stalwart Lew Hirt Society man and Moose stories are legendary. He left us too soon! And Happy Birthday to you MM.
