The problem with ARob is that he averags a foul every 45 seconds or so. I'm pleased with his progress, and his defense over the last few games. He also had several good takes to the hole.skyhops wrote: ↑Tue Feb 10, 2026 5:05 pmOr we didn't turn the ball over three times at the end. Carroll is not getting those calls at the end of games similar to the game a few weeks ago, so he doesn't need the ball in his hand at crunch time. We were up five in regulation and then down three within a minute based on a terrible 3 by Filip and airball by Jovan and a horrible take by Tre. I like what Richard is doing, but he did not do himself any favors at the end of regulation and OT. We do foul a lot, but many of those calls on us were silly. Hopkins got a lot of calls and he isn't even aggressive. ARob needs to be in the game vs St Johns and UConn based on his size. Unfortunately, he is awful from the stripe.

Re: ST JOHNS GAME THREAD 2.0
Anti-Homer... Moore is one of our best players but at the end of games he fades. When the other team presses at the end of games he shies away from the ball. He is very uncomfortable with physical play. He disappears down the stretch. That is why our offense is so limited at the end of games. We have Filip, Carroll and anybody not named Moore handling the ball. As a result we are near half court running our offense . A lot of our turnovers at the end of games are because our point guard is nowhere to be found. I know he is talented but he needs to take over the ball handling so we don't have all these turnovers and empty possessions at the end of games

Good points made by all. I must agree with AH that I have not seen a worse rebounder or defender for a big than Jovan (Filip and Tre are not great either). He just doesn't even try to get a rebound or box someone out. Officials know he fouls, so he doesn't get any calls. I will take Moore or Wrigth shooting a last shot anyday because they are our best shooters. ARob is big strong and athletic, just not a good basketball player which can still be useful. Pape has regressed and has no idea how to use his size or know where to go. I'm assuming Pozzato won't be back and will redshirt to make him more money.

I have to mention Wright. He has played a lot better the last two games. Also Anderson who is one of my favorite players had a very tough night. I hope Pitino doesn't have a short lease on Robinson. He is likely to struggle down the stretch. Don't sleep on Pop's either. I heard the podcast with Boring. If Xavier thinks they can pay Robinson like your 8th man than he will be gone. Forget Pozzato ... he is probably gone too. I wouldn't lose sleep on any of the current team leaving but a complete turnover is a tough way to go.

I'm not sure I agree on Pape. He needs to at least play defense but went almost three games without a rebound. His game doesn't translate in the BE right now. Not sure ARob will play for much less money, but I agree he should. Pozzato will not get more money right now at any other school. I'm sure X has something lined up that he doesn't play but will comeback. Something Miller should have done with Green. I've been happy with All lately and he doesn't make mistakes just needs to be aggressive. We needed to win a few close games. Seeing Tre or Filip with the ball and the end of the game is a disaster except for Depaul.
