Mike DeCourcey would say in response, "No way."

No way? Those are words I heard before Matta left Xavier. That's why he's disliked by many here.

When he says, I am not interested in the Indiana job" ... or .. "I have had no contact with Indiana" .. or .. "I am happy where I am at" ...
Then clear the highways, the moving van is on the way!
Never, never, believe anything he says.

I can see the press conference now; Thad will come to the podium, pull out a "Hoosier" and say a neighbor gave it to him when he was a little kid and this was always his dream job.

And if this scenario ever happened it would be followed immediately by the
MILLER TO OHIO STATE
headline.

Re: Matta To Indiana?
Why?
He won't make any more money, he'll have huge pressures, but his ego will say yes, yes yes.
In the "Basketball Is King" arena's you have:
Kansas, UCLA, Kansas State, Arizona, Kentucky, UNC, Wake, NC St, Maryland, Indiana, and maybe a couple more.
Five years ago I posted why whatshisname would take the osu job even though he was denying it, saying that the osu job was one of the Ten Best in The Country and was I ever fried for it.
I still maintain that --- not as a King Basketball School --- but because of its locale, conference, money, political influence, facilities, and sitting in the center of perhaps 65% of the country's population within a six hour drive. That's pretty steep recruiting availbilites.
But, the man who takes it must understand the sport is a winter diversion between the Michigan game and the start of spring football.
Take a gander sometime at the Columbus Disgrace, eh Dispatch, and you'll see a football story each and ever day.
Whatshisname can't live with that!
