Poll - Burrell shoot the ball or not

Game tied up tongiht with 10 seconds left in the game. X has the ball. Both Burrell and the other teammate are equally open. Do you want Burrell to take the shot

(1) As I said elsewhere, this is a dumb question because I can't recall the last time Stanley took a last-second shot that could win or lose the game. The ball's been in the hands of Drew, Josh or C.J., for the most part.

So, you're looking to take Burrell to task for something he hasn't been asked to do. Why not ask if Love should be breaking the press?

(2) Depends on who the teammate is, and how Stan and the other players have been doing in the game. If he's 0-8 and missing wildly, then have someone else take the shot. But if he's 6-8, AND it's a good shot, then shoot the damn ball, Stan!

None of your argument matters. Our final shot guy is the guy with the hot hand who has been productive during the game at creating shots and knocking them down; a testament to our balance this year - if Josh is hitting his shots - guess who we design a play around? Josh.. If Lavender is hitting his shots and feels good about it - lavender takes the shot, if Stanley is hitting his shots and getting open looks, its Stanley.,, etc. etc. Stanley hasn't taken many shots per game this year because we don't need him to. Stanley creates baskets and high percentage shots and does a damn good job at it. If he creates a high percentage shot for himself and he's feeling it i have no problem with him taking that shot. Your argument is a non-issue, completely pointless, and makes you look like an ass. Something you seem to be quite good at...

I can't believe X is in the Sweet 16 and Millersdad is impliedly complaining about Stanley. Without Stanley, X is probably not in the sweet 16.

Stanley has been the ultimate team player this year. He sacrificed his offense for the betterment of the team. For that he should be thanked.

First of all I do like stanley...i think he brings alot to the team, especially in the defensive catagory and he is needed on this team. But....he cannot shot the ball under pressure....thats true.....just because I am bringing to light a valid point doesn't mean i don't like the guy and don't want him on the team. Just don't call him a shooting guard if he can't shoot that well. Call him a defensive guard.

For the umpteenth time, here's why it's NOT a valid point. SB has not been asked to take a last second, game-winning shot in ages. Therefore, he hasn't had the chance to make or miss one. Asking why he's not better at something he doesn't do is like asking why Adrian Graves isn't blocking more shots. It's just stupid.

Throw in your moronic argument that layups and FTs don't count in valuing a player's offensive contributions, and you've got a classically dumb argument.

And the reason he's called a "shooting guard" is because THAT'S WHAT THE POSITION IS CALLED. You have center, power (or big) forward, small forward, point guard and shooting guard.

If you want to ask the basketball world to change the names of the 5 positions, feel free to do so. Until that time, SB doesn't play center, power forward, small forward or point guard (mostly). His position is shooting guard.
