Stanford coach to LSU, Jamie Dixon to Stanford leaving Miller at the top of the list for Pitt.

It never ceases to amaze me how retarded people on this board can be. Where is this rumor coming from? Your imagination? If and when the Pittsburgh job opens up then its fair game to speculate on whether Sean may or may not go, but until then why don't we stop speculating where Jamie Dixon may or may not go and therefore whether Sean may or may not go to Pitt. It seems like every job that opens Job Sean is either a candidate or Jamie Dixon is a candidate and therefore Sean is a candidate for Pitt. Ridiculous!

Jaime Dixon will not go to Stanford, he has no reason to. The most likely choices for Stanford will be the coach from San Diego or the guy from Nevada. First of all Stanford does not pay that well and it is not as good a job as Pitt. Why does everyone think Dixon wants to go to every job that opens up West of the Mississippi?

Even if the Pitt job opened, I'm not so sure Sean would jump so easily. He's in an unbelievable situation for a coach:
- Every returning player has Elite 8 experience and already understands the "team" concept.
- He has perhaps the highest regarded XU freshman class ever (...time will tell) coming in.
- Plus he has the two transfers eligible thsi year.

So he has 7 new players that he's personally recruited and can mold into his players under his system with the aide of an Elite 8 experienced squad that thrived under it. He has to just be salivating at the next few years, don't you think?

Please remember the spring of 2007. Please.
Sean was reportedly the top candidate for the Michigan job. He was never contacted, never interviewed and never offered the job. Bobinski was also not contacted.
OK, so the Minnesota job came open. Again, Sean rumored to be (this time) at the top of the list for the Gophers. This time, though things got really serious, because I don't believe Kenny Frease had committed. Even if he had, he could not sign until November.
OK, a sports reporter on the St. Paul Pioneer-Press wrote a story saying Sean Miller was in Minneapolis (actually Bloomington, Minn.where U of M is ) and a press conference would be held that day introducing him as their new head coach.
The story was written on orders from the sports editor of the St. PP who used to work here in Cincinnati, hates Xavier and all Catholics with a passion. That day went by and the next day Tubby Smith was named Gophers' coach. The St.PP was beaten on the story by a former Post reporter who told me the whole damn story. Again, Sean was never contacted, nor was Bobinski and nothing was even done back channels.
This year everyone is well aware of the Indiana debacle and following that the Marquette fun fest. By now the story of Sean sitting in Bobinski's office laughing like crazy when a reporter from the Milwaukee paper called Bobinski's office and asked for a comment on Xavier losing its coach because Sean was allegedly in Milwaukee and would be named the next day and on and on and on.
Sean has said he'll be staying at Xavier for years to come. I 'm not sure but my instincts which are still pretty good, tell me these RUMORS are being started by someone who is still displeased that Sean is the Xavier coach and he was not vetted extensively nor was there a national search conducted.
We always had a rule--WE DON'T PRINT RUMORS. Too much can go wrong when you do that. Relax. Sean's going nowhere but recruiting for the 09-10, and 10-11 and 11-12 seasons. He already has the makings of a potentially great team. Stay tuned.

OK, got the expected responses. As for not posting rumors - are ya kiddin me. This board is so full of half-truths and innuendo it reeks. Anyway it was fun for a day.

I too believe Sean will be at X for the long haul. But, hey, it's almost summer. Something needs to happen to spice the board up.

The fact of the matter is that every year there is a coach at a school saying that he'll be there for the long haul, and has no intention of leaving, and the next day he is packing his bags for some other school. Remember Thad? He said he was staying at Xavier while he was driving up to Columbus.

I'd say that roughly 90% of the coaches in college basketball are sleezy sacks of potatoes that will leave at a moments notice for more money with no regard to their players or their University.

Is Miller one of those guys? I hope not, but you never know.

Man if you are going to make up rumors make it a good one. Pat Summit to the Knicks, Thad matta to Tenn. women, Bob Knight to ohio state, Bill Self to ESPN, Bruce Pearl to Kansas, Billy Donovan to Tenn., Bill Gillespie to Fl, Dixon to UK and Sean to Pitt. Now repeat that without looking. I think the key is Pat Summit.
