if you boo your own team/players/etc, you're a loser. it's that simple. there's no place for that or for saying ANYTHING to Travis' wife.

boo the refs. boo the opponent's players.

don't act like that towards your own team.

no place for it.

i get there wasn't much to cheer about on Saturday but don't go the complete opposite direction. that's just not right.
Anti boos his wife for an overcooked egg so why shouldn't he think that others would boo Mick Croinns wife, family, or friends. I didn't like Mick's actions but booing is left to those who can not express themselves any other way. I don't even boo refs but do instruct them when they are incompetent and anyone near me might tell you. I keep it clean and pithy, Drendo74 sat close to me and he can tell you that I was unmerciful with the refs but never cursed or even booed them. Eugene Steratore and I have had great conversations and I have always respected him because he would listen when I thought he made a mistake and he was the only one that would be civil. Teddy Valentine and I got into it at a Detroit-Mercy game and John Popovich was sitting next to me and after he asked me how I kept my cool when Teddy started cursing.
.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I have NEVER booed a Xavier team. I would never bet against a Xavier team even if offered a Ka-Zillion points!
It is a matter of principle called:LOYALTY.

I wouldnt boo them because they are not paid professional athletes. I am not above booing a professional sports franchise. However, harassing family members is way beyond reasonable in any setting. Its still a damn game.

I’ve been going to XU games since before they had a sign on the expressway…hell, since before there was a Millcreek Expressway. I road to some games with my neighbor, Steve Thomas. Talked to Bill Dailey when football was going away and he decribed to me the focus for bball for the next 50 years…create a league…rule the league…move up. I tossed football in the gym with Jerry Buckmaster and got “shown how” one afternoon by Luther Rackley goofing around in the gym before the Army grabbed me. Came back fom overseas and finished my bachelors under Fr. Savage and went on for and M. Ed.
All those years of games and support came with a healthy appreciation for patience, growth and time. From the old days of wooden plank seats at Schmidt to the amazing venue that is Cintas.l have NEVER been more embarrassed by Xavier fans than to hear that the coaches wife took verbal abuse and the players were booed into the tunnel.
Look where they’ve come from in no league to rise to a member of the Big East. That is success that few programs have had. It’s about time for the fan base to show a little patience and grow into that themselves.
You want them to win…support them through the tough times.

Agreed.

I assume you consider yourself a good American right? If that's the case, then you agree with the Administration's stances on: the border, abortion, foreign policy, entitlements, affirmative action, response to the pandemic, vaccine mandates, gov't shutdowns, LGBTQ, and every other policy they advocate right? Otherwise, you are Un-American.

I respect Alpalpa's sentiment on patience but disagree based on coaching salary. If Travis was making 50k a year, I can be patient. When he is making the money of a successful person, he needs to produce results. You either earn your money or you steel it. Maybe it is a swindle but earning money honestly matters.

I don't like the idea of boos being felt by players. I wish there was a way to shield them while letting the coach and administration know they are failing. I don't have the answer for this one. A change needs made. Travis is not capable. The players are. They are not a team that should be undefeated but they are a team that should be top 3 or 4 in the Big East.

As for anything directed at the coaches wife, I am less sympathetic because of their status. When you get rewarded at a high level while failing to earn your money, you get less sympathy. That being said, people can go too far and I don't necessarily support what actually happened. I may also support more than what happened, given that I do not know what was said. I do not condone any violence so if it went there, that is just wrong.
