I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I have no problem with taking a chance on a person without experience. Many prove they are worth the risk. What you don't do in these situations is pay them large sums of money before they prove themselves. You give them the opportunity and when they succeed you reward them.
The Travis situation was handled all wrong. He got the big contract without having proven anything. This is a slap in the face to everyone that works for a living. It may be far worse than that but I will not comment without knowing more details.
I sincerely hope Travis donates the majority of his after tax income to charity. He obviously did not earn it. Whether you believe he recruited well and didn't develop players, he recruited terribly and doesn't have the talent to win or just didn't know how to manage his team, he failed.
Time to move on.

Without question needs to be fired end of season. Not sure anyone with any sense of the landscape of college basketball could look at his body of work the last 4 years and think he should keep his job at the helm of this program.
If we lose to GTown Saturday, he should be fired before the BE tourney.
This is the Big East and this is Xavier. He is well below the standards.

While I completely support the opinion of firing Travis, especially since I was the first to vote for it, there is another option. Travis won games before Big East play most years. Xavier could leave the Big East and play in a conference he is capable of winning. Sure recruiting would become more difficult and he would eventually struggle to win against those teams but it is another option.

What is not clear about my comment, Jesse?
You can play up to the talent or down to the coaching. Both are options. I suppose getting rid of the team is another option but that is least desirable for me personally.
