I'm looking at ON3 and see that currently there's 867 entered and only 66 committed. I'm waiting for the tsunamis to hit.
Does anyone have an educated guess as to what our first eight look like?
Do you think that there will be a long wait? Look, I'm a class of 1959 and I don't have much patience....LOL!
I thought this was supposed to be a very large group, perhaps over 1500 entrants, so what's happening ?

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Portal time and names
Great news about Freemantle coming back. We immediately got a lot better. We are going to pick up a couple front court Dudes . I know a lot of the board people are worried about all the guys leaving but I feel we will be a lot better next year. Claude, Freemantle, McKnight, Foster and Swain can all play. A couple of Big's who are physical and can defend and throw in another guard and we are a tourney team next year.

Love your optimism re: Freemantle. When healthy, he is one of the most talented post players in the MW. The question, though, is what impact will 18 months away from the game have on him.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 7:26 pmGreat news about Freemantle coming back. Secondly, I really hope this part of your post ages well:" but I feel we will be a lot better next year. Claude, Freemantle, McKnight, Foster and Swain can all play." Does it give you pause that neither of the names on the bookends has declared that they're coming back?"

Swain is coming back. Claude most likely not. Good point on Free but we need some good news

Is Claude getting his elbow surgery done by Xavier doctors? I guess that is the portal world we live in.

If we keep what we have now and add some transfers we will be fine. If we continue to bleed players and not replace, we are in for another trash season.

Re: Portal time and names
there are about 350 Division 1 college mens basketball teams and obviously only 68 teams are selected for March Madness tournament. IMHO only this 2023-24 season had one great team and that was UConn. There were maybe 15 very good teams. And another 52 just good teams at best. the other nearly 300 teams were average to way below average. Regardless of the fact in todays world there are about 1000 players a year who enter the portal and change schools/teams, there will never be more than about 8 teams through out the regular season really able to win the National Title. My wife and I both said during the regular season.....UConn is heads above every other team in the country.....a fully balanced, well seasoned, well coached team that was beating almost everyone by double digits. The NCAA wants to expand MM to more teams...that is really not needed.

Lazar Djokovic has committed to Charleston.

Re: Portal time and names
Hard to believe we lost him to Charleston. Miller should not have buried him on bench most of year.
