Build a lineup

Postby muskieman » Fri Apr 17, 2026 8:36 am

So, does anyone want to form a starting five and the players we can count on off the bench in order? Who do you think is the "go to guy" at the end of games?

Looking forward to AH, Sky Hops, and others for their take.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Westry
Washington
Pozzato
Milicevic
Nwoko

Dominguez first guy off the bench. R. Aligbe gets 18-20 minutes due to versatility and foul prone starting front court.

Go-to guy in the clutch is the big question. Probably Westry in the pick&roll. Spacing & shooting around him with Nwoko to clean up misses underneath.

XU...2011 I agree with your starting five. I think in the beginning of the year Dominquez will be the first guy off the bench. I think once we get to the Big East Schedule Rolyns Aligbe will be getting starter minutes. Nwoko and Milicevic are both hatchets. I think the go to guy will be Pozzato because he moves the best on any of the starters. I'm basing this without ever seeing him or half the starters play. LOL On paper we seem to be miles ahead of last years team in talent. It remains to be seen how long it takes for a new roster to jell. I think the keys will be Aligbe and House. I hope Pitino doesn't have a quick hook with both of them. I see us as a top three team in the Big East and back in the tournament where we belong. I'm very excited for next season.

Agree with XU_2011, but it really doesn't make a difference.

As stated in another post, I think X essentially has seven starters, with PT dependent on matchups.

KR, I love Pozzatto's upside, and he reportedley impressed in practice before getting injured, but that's a tall task coming off an injury, and only having experience at a lower mid-major.

I don't see a dominant scorer (i.e. Olivari), but see a team similar to 07-08, where six or seven guys averaged 10-12 pointe per game.

The most comforting thing is having a polished PG. With the mix of slashers and shooters, this team will have a lot of options on offense.

I would think that Dominquez is going to get more minutes than many think. I've not heard that Pozzato's defensive is anything special and although I heard he was a dawg, he was at Evansville whereas Dominquez was at a big school and an elite shooter. Having he and Jovan on the floor at the same time could cause issues defensively, but I'm assuming Jovan is going to put forth more effort to play defensive and rebound like a 6'10 player should.
