michiganXman's Observations....

Postby michiganXman » Sun Mar 16, 2008 7:48 pm

1) Like our bracket. Georgia had their day in the sun. They blew their wad in the Conference Tourney (ala Syracuse two years ago.)

2) I'd rather play Purdue than Baylor. Baylor has 5 very good guards. Stan can't guard them all.

3) I pray we play Duke in the Sweet 16...we'll beat them.

4) Hope there are more X fans in DC than there were in Atlantic City. Disappointed in the X turnout for the conference tourney. (Oh well, didn't miss much except for a miraculous run at the blackjack table by yours truly.)

5) UK getting in is a joke. The emphasis on conference tourney's that applied to Kansas and Tennessee apparently didn't come into play for UK.

6) Butler got screwed. A 7seed? I like Butler, as they are a lot like Xavier. They deserve better.

7) I thought everyone said the Big East was down? Those bastards put in 8 (deserving) teams. WTF?

Any suggestions on how to get tickets to the sold-out sessions for a recent grad in the D.C. area?

Any hope of going through Xavier or should I go to E-bay and other secondary sources?

We will not beat Duke! I wish more than anything we would, but I just don't see it happening this year. I like our first and potenital second round matchups. If we were to reach the Sweet 16, I wish it was in Detroit.

Butler got hosed!!!! A 29-3 record, while playing in the Horizon, probably warranted a 4 or 5 seed.

UK is a farce. ud deserved it more than UK. MXM, according to Hubert Davis X has a guard named Scotty Burrell must be Stan's brother maybe he can guard on of the other guards.

Butler did get hosed.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

This coming from a guy who claims to have gone to every home AND away game this year, every tournament game for the past 12 years and every game ever played at the Cintas.

Well, we already played Belmont this year and beat them by 50 points. Did you forget you were there? You would be scared to get matched up with them? So we might not beat them by 50 again, probably only 25.

I like the potential XU Duke matchup. Duke is basically the same team as X, possibly more consistent but otherwise the same. If we play well there is no reason we won't beat them. I'm far more worried about game one as we have the potential to be nervous or to overlook the competition. I also prefer to play Purdue in round 2 but Baylor isn't a bad draw either.

The draw is extremely favorable so if the team plays well the final 4 is very possible.

I believe that the bracket is very favorable for X. Georgia should be no problem. I know that no game should be overlooked but there is no reason X should loose this game. Stan will shut down their senior scoring leader and they will be lost. I have only seen a few Purdue games this season and I seem to be the only person not jumping on the bandwagon. They start 4 freshman and rely heavily on them for production. Matching up against a balanced, senior lead squad such as X with tournament experience will be too difficult for them and I think if we do get the Purdue game, it will be a lopsided victory for X. I don't know much about Baylor other than they can be very streaky. I'll have to do some research before discussing our possible matchup with them.

I would not put it past Baylor to upset PU.

Guys on CH 12 think X will make the final four. Hope they are right.
