Miller doesn't make $5M here, and Kelsey is not an option. They have top NIL dollars like Texas.
AH is right Louisville announced they are willing to pay 10 million in the NIL. Look if the players are going to get paid then contract should be included like in the NBA. Only when the contract is over they move. I don't like it but the movement year to year with a player I saw recently being at 5 different schools. What has been created. A POX ON the process.
X needs to move fast. OSU (and I'm sure a bunch of others) is going after Swain. He played AAU with a couple of players on the team.
When Swain changed agents halfway through the season, I expected he would be moving on. I hope I am wrong, but it appears money is the deciding factor, not school. I heard some experts talking, and a kid's decision is coach, then school, but now it might be $$$s, coach, and then school.
I have been through it with Staak, Gillian, Skip, Thadd, Miller twice, and Chris. There are no more Mark Fews or McDermotts

I hope Sean finds out that the SEC is much tougher against 15 other teams and that BS he said was the beauty of the BE with home and home will be his nightmare in a 16 team league. OH and I will not wish his well after screwing X twice.
Illinois is getting throttled by Kentucky
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Anti- homer I read a article in Rivals by Pete Nakos that says the power four teams will spend 10 to 12 million in N.I.L. money next year on the average for basketball. . I think the article is two days old. I can't find and I've been looking to find out where I read about about U Conn's N.I.L. money. Maybe it's not accurate because I can't find where I read it. As far as Miller I googled Miller's salary and Miller signed a extension last year thru 2028 to 2029 with a base salary of 4.53 a year with a lot of incentives. I believe if he hit the incentives his salary was over 5 million. Hope your wrong about Mack but your usually right.LOL

Return of the Mack?

SOURCE: #Xavier has interest in Chris Mack returning as head men's basketball coach.

I've also been told the interest in mutual.

What if Xavier just hired Sean Miller and then Chris Mack and then Travis Steele in succession over and over and over again until the sun explodes

KR,

I don't know the article you're referring to, but the recent settlement with the NCAA that allows schools to directly compensate players (at a cap of $20.5M), theoretically means all schools can bump their pay to players. Fortunately, we don't have the dilemma of having to decide the revenue allocation with a football program, which would get the lion's share. Ironically, UConn does have a football team but is one of the few schools that prioritizes bball over football.

In FY2024, UConn reported $19.6M in revenue from men's bball. X, being a private institution, is harder to pin down, but seems to be in the $17 - $18M range. Based solely on this, and not knowing/accounting for the expenses for either, it would seem that X could also increase their total spend (NIL and direct compensation) substantially. However, mine is purely from a novice's point of view, but I think the NIL at X is in a lot better shape than most think.

I wouldn’t want Mack back. His teams didn’t play much defense, though he did use an occasional zone. But he left in a worse way than Matta or Miller. He was mentally in Louisville before the season ended. He also carries baggage from his UofL days. Not sure an inexperienced coach would be my choice either. We’re top half of the Big East, so we should be able to get someone better. Though the push for a BE / ACC merger would likely leave some teams outside the ‘elite’ ones. Just on man’s opinion.

Oldhoopster I agree with you 100%. He was recruiting for Louisville while still coaching at Xavier. He also tried to blackmail his own assistant. The way he left was brutal. We should learn from Miller about giving him another chance.

Anti -homer I think this is correct.$4.53 million
He sat out the 2021-2022 season before being hired for a second time by Xavier. Last season he was given a contract extension by Xavier through the 2028-2029 season at a base salary of $4.53 million. His buyout is about $2 million.4 hours ago

Actually,

It's the other way around. Mack was going to fire Dino Gaudio, and Gaudio tried to extort him for $400k or so, or he was going disclose info., which turned out to be minor. Per his attorney's advice, I assume, Mack was wired. Gaudio faced charges, was put on probation, and paid a fine.
